Gui Hai – Yin Water Pig

November 7th – December 7th

November 7th was the first day of the winter season, and the beginning of the “Yin Blue Water Pig” month. Since 2019 will be the “Brown Earth Pig” year, we can maybe get a little glimpse this month into what is in store for us next year. Of all the animals, the pig is the most optimistic! She (because the pig is yin energy) usually looks on the bright side and thinks things will work out for the best even though reality may be pointing in the opposite direction. After the brutality of the Mountain Dog Year, I think we all need a strong dose of optimism!

For the last few years, the fire element has been prominent in the world. First, in 2016, we had yang fire (solar), then, last year we had the yin candle fire (lunar), and this year we have had the fire entering “the grave.” We will not have the exuberance of fire energies again until 2025! Starting next year, we are entering a period ruled by water and metal.

So in keeping with these elemental shifts, this pig month is ruled by yin water over yang water. The energies of the month tend to be dreamy, cloudy and self delusional. It is not a very stable condition. It is important to try to stay grounded and to make and monitor your decisions carefully.

Next year the element is yin brown soil, so we will have yin earth over yang water. The element earth and the element water are always in conflict, (earth dirties water – muddy communication) so these contentious energies will be at play all of next year. The best description I can think of for 2019 is “The Year of the Muddy Brown Pig!” More on that later.

Following are the auspicious and non auspicious days for the “Blue Water Pig Month.” There is only one “Excellent” day this month according to Master Dong Gong and that is November 18th. It is good for almost anything! Remember to check the chart below for your clashing sign. The following dates are not auspicious dates for you if your Chinese astrological animal clashes with the animal ruling the day. November 18 – wood tiger – best day – great for opening business,moving house, marriage, ground breaking, renovation, increase of wealth, birth of noble child – almost anything

November 19 – wood rabbit – second best day for breaking ground, opening a business, doing construction, getting married, moving

November 20 – fire dragon – second best day – for doing minor repairs. Avoid renovation, construction, marriage, moving to a new home

November 23 – earth sheep – usable, but refrain from getting married, opening a business, or breaking ground

November 25 – metal rooster – second best day for marriage, moving to a new home, doing renovation, opening a business

December 1 – fire rabbit – second best day for breaking ground, opening a business, doing construction, getting married, moving

December 4 – metal horse – second best day for or marriage, traveling, opening business, breaking ground, burial

December 5 – metal sheep – second beat day for for doing repairs, getting married, collecting debt, seeking promotion, seeking medical assistance, going to meetings, – people met today will help you through the year.

December 7 – water rooster – second best day for burial, choosing a burial plot, avoid renovation, marriage, moving to a new home, or opening a new business (no best days this month)

Inauspicious Days

November 10th, November 13- 17, November 21, November 24, November 26-30, December 2-3.

The Dire (worst) days are November 10, November 17th, November 24, and December 2.
