The yin muddy pig (2019) is the end of the 12 year animal cycle and the white metal rat ( 2020) will start a fresh new cycle. There is however a much larger 60 year cycle. This cycle pairs each of the 12 animals with one of the five elements; water, wood, fire, earth, and metal. It is important to realize that if we go back 60 years to 1959, or even 60 years earlier to 1899, we can get a feel for what the year of the “ muddy earth pig” holds. 1959, was a very yin year, but then the next year, the “Yang Metal Rat” thrust us into the cultural revolution of the sixties and 1899 thrust us into ”the second industrial revolution” in the 1900’s.
There are also monthly and daily cycles of qi which flow just like the 60 year cycle ( leap years add a bit of confusion!!,) but April is always ruled by the dragon. This year it is, 戊 辰 Wu Chen, the Yellow Dragon, that begins Friday, April 6th and lasts until May 4th. The auspicious and non auspicious dates are based on both the yearly, the monthly, and daily qi.

Following are the auspicious and non-auspicious days for the “yang mountain dragon.”
Remember to check the chart to seewhether your sign clashes with the day’s energy. If it does, the day is not good for you. For example, if it is a dog day, (like April 7,) it is not a good day for a dragon, because the dog energies clash with those of the dragon.

April 5 Ren Shen – Water Monkey
Today is a great day for beginning any endeavors that are important to you like signing long term agreements, seeking medical treatment, getting married, opening a business, starting construction, buying a pet, or planting your garden!
Apri l6 Gui You – Water Rooster
A good day to start a new project, begin new work assignments, sign agreements, do renovations, open a business, ask for favors, or to bury some one.
April 8 Yi Hai – Wood Pig
A relaxing, quiet day that is good for focusing inward and doing spiritual activities, breaking ground, or starting new studies,
April 9 Bing Zi – Fire Rat
A good day for opening a business, traveling, moving, starting a job, making business deals, getting married, signing or making contracts, seeking medical advice, seeking promotion, digging earth, or burying someone.
April 11 Wu Yin – Earth Tiger
Today is an extremely favorable day for opening a business, doing space clearing, starting a new job, starting school/higher education, signing agreements, getting married, doing business deals, starting a project, Renovating, moving into a new home, breaking ground or beginning any important events.
April 15 Ren Wu – Water Horse
Amazing it is tax day in the US and it is a favorable for collecting taxes or debts, making financial investments, installing new equipment, signing financial agreements, opening a business, buying real estate, traveling, or moving into a new home.
April 17 Jia Shen – Wood Monkey
This is a good day to begin long term goals. This can be signing long term agreements, seeking medical treatment, getting married, opening a business, buying a pet, beginning construction, breaking ground, anything that you want to last for a few years.
April 18 Yi You – Wood Rooster
A Good day for Accept new work assignments, signing agreements, starting new project, breaking ground, renovating, opening a business, planting, making requests, beginning to teach, getting married, traveling,, moving into a new home. It is also a good day for burial.
April 20 Bing Shen – Fire Monkey
This is a good day to begin long term goals. This could be hiring long term employees, signing long term agreement, seeking medical treatment, getting married, opening business, buying a pet, beginning construction, breaking ground, anything that you want to last for a few years into the future.
April 21 Wu Zi – Earth Rat
Today is good to open a business, travel move into a new home, start a job, do a business deals, get married, sign or make a contract, seeks medical advice, seeks promotion, good for burials.
April 30 Ding You – Fire Rooster
The last good day of the month to accept new work assignments, sign agreements, start a new project, break ground, do renovations, open a business, ask for favors. Also, good for burials.
Non Auspicious Dates
Non auspicious dates – Below is the list of days you need to avoid in April, 2019. These are dates when the qi energy of the day opposes the qi energy of the month ( dragon) or the year (pig). These dates can bring unpredictable outcomes.
Any endeavors begun on these dates like opening a business, moving in a new home, getting married, signing agreements etc. may be delayed or you may encounter many obstacles.

This April should go smoother than last April which was in opposition to the annual qi.
Recently when discussing meteors with some high school students, I suddenly realized that shungite is really over a million years old!! I always say it, but I realized I was holding a stone a million year old. It made me value it more and to honor all of the catastrophes it has survived. It holds so much power.
